Organisasi Profesi Perhimpunan Hematologi Onkologi Medik Penyakit Dalam Indonesia (PERHOMPEDIN) dilahirkan sebagai salah satu jawaban dalam menghadapi tantangan semakin banyaknya rakyat Indonesia yang menderita penyakit kanker dalam darah. Perkembangan di dunia saat ini, telah terjadi pergeseran pola penyakit dan penyebab kematian dari penyakit infeksi ke penyakit non infeksi. Transisi epidemiologi ini juga terjadi di Negara Asia Tenggara termasuk Indonesia.

Sub Bagian Hematologi – Onkologi Medik dimulai dengan adanya Keputusan Kongres Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Penyakit Dalam Indonesia ke-X di Padang, tanggal 23 – 27 Juni 1996. Dalam Sidang Komisi Pendidikan memutuskan bahwa Hematologi – Onkologi Medik diakui sebagai Spesialis Penyakit Dalam, Konsultan Hematologi – Onkologi Medik.

Indonesia Society of Hematology Medical Oncology become a part and internationally recognized by international society of hematology and medical oncology

Mission

  1. To increase the number of hematologist and medical oncologist in 110 regional referral hospitals and 14 national referral hospitals throughout Indonesia.
  2. To increase the number of IFHO Interenist Fellow Hematology Oncology to fill the shortage of oncologist in 218 class B goverment hospital and 358 class C goverment hospitals.
  3. To increase the capabillity of knowledges and skill in the field of Hematology and Medical Oncology
  4. To provide the best services in accordance with best clinical practice based on Evidence Based Medicine in the field of Hematology and Medical Oncology
  5. To improve the quantity and quality of research and medical services in the field of Hematology and Medical Oncology in Indonesia and international.
  6. To educate the Internits and General Practitioners in order to make a good patient referral system in the field of Hematology and Medical Oncology
  7. To provide training for nurses, pharmacist, etc, in the field of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
  8. To provide education to the public regarding knowledge in the field of Hematologgy and Medical Oncology
